Greetings!
Welcome to our December Newsletter on Tallow tree. This species has brilliant fall color and after the leaves drop through winter, you will see black fruit splitting to reveal three white, waxy seeds. Those persistent seeds make it easily found in Winter. Tallow tree is rapidly spreading across the Southeastern US and is important to be on the lookout for. Download the attached pdf to interact with the live links or view the included the links below. These materials are free for you to use for educational purposes, including presenting, printing, and sharing as you need.
Last month, it was announced that spotted lanternfly had been confirmed in Georgia for the first time. We are including several of the resources that have been shared and reminding everyone that spotted lanternfly can be reported via https://www.gainvasives.org/slf/
Anyone can report Tallow tree and other invasive species via https://www.eddmaps.org/ or via the EDDMapS app and experts that participate as EDDMapS Verifiers will review the records.
